PPC 37 mile cross country

We got an early start. Took off at 7:40 from Buddha at Bill's place heading out for Smithville 37 miles away. (which is alot for these slow flying aircraft) Here you see five of us laid out and ready to go.
Here we are flying along and listening to some music.
A good shot with four in front of us and awsome clouds.

It was like the sun was a personal disco ball for us. Notice the rays punching through the upper layer and putting circles of light on the lower layer of clouds.
Two pilots from Bastrop joined in. We landed, refueled, had some breakfast tacos, laid out and were off again. Here you can count all seven planes. We had one engine failure (wild Bill ). He made a repair and made it home though. And we had a headwind so one pilot (Jean) made an emergency landing because of low fuel. We went and picked her up in the truck. So we had a blast and eventually all made it home. Thanks for a fun day everyone.

Flying family

I got to take up my nephew Nick today. He has never flown in any type of aircraft and he loved it. I also took my mom Linda for her first ppc flight. And my dad Ray for his third flight.

Taylor Tx fly in.

I went to the Taylor fly in today and flew my plane around with a few hot air balloons that took off from Taylor. Also did my biannual flight review with Bruce Lynn. Then got to enjoy getting to fly a 1943 Fairchild PT-19.
